On vacation - Sitar
My mother visited India five years back and she happened to listen to Pandit Ravi Shankar, the renowned Indian sitar master. She was fascinated by the music. She plays guitar and she wanted to learn sitar also. She bought one sitar there itself. It is a traditional North Indian classical musical instrument which has a dried gourd for a body, and a neck constructed with mahogany or teak wood. After she returned she looked around for someone who will teach her. It was initially a bit difficult to learn, but gradually she learnt it. Now after five years you can say she has become somewhat fluent in playing this instrument.
