Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

During the ceremonial occasion Rebecca Clements looked like a model that just won a national crown. Her White Dress was perfect and her eyes were filled with tears of happiness.

If you ever saw Mrs. Clements in person you would drop to your knees in awe. and I am not just saying that because I am the one that married her.

Knowing how to read guitar tabs makes it much easier to write your own songs. You can then pick the sounds of the song because you are much more familiar with the notes. If you break down a chord and write it out as tablature, you will begin to see a pattern as your song gets written. I have only experimented a little with writing songs and still find it very difficult. I know there are computer software to help write songs, but they are expensive. Use your tablature experience to help write a song to find pattern and rhythm to fit your melody.

To ask, what do festival lovers wish from a music festival? Is it sensational dance music so festival hunters can rave all night, ear banging rock music for serious head banging or some good soft folk music while people lie in the sun? What is also more fundamental really is the kind of atmosphere that folk are looking for, the bands & the facilities, all of which at different festivals vary a lot. The foremost rock festivals goes into swing gradually at the end of spring beginning of August they happen up & down the British Isles so there are always going to be a marvellous festival that is close to festival goers. Festival lovers are no allowed to take any of your own food or beer onto the festival site but festival goers are allowed to carry it into your camping ground so it makes sense to eat and drink all festival goers can before stepping into the festival grounds this way festival goers should be able to stop from spending a fortune What makes an unbelievable festival great is for obvious reasons the the hot weather, the lovely atmosphere the bands and the amazing memories that you yourself are going to make along the way.

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

It is often been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so is the interpretation of art photography. What is pure art to many people may be considered nothing more than “dirty pictures” to others. Since the first pictures of females, wearing very little covering or nothing at all surface in the mid-1950’s the debate about what constitutes art photography or pornography has raged. The Canon digital camera has become a firm favorite with many and it is easy to see why. It is easy to operate, does not let you down when you really need to get the shot and just all round good value for money.

On vacation - Sitar

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

My mother visited India five years back and she happened to listen to Pandit Ravi Shankar, the renowned Indian sitar master. She was fascinated by the music. She plays guitar and she wanted to learn sitar also. She bought one sitar there itself. It is a traditional North Indian classical musical instrument which has a dried gourd for a body, and a neck constructed with mahogany or teak wood. After she returned she looked around for someone who will teach her. It was initially a bit difficult to learn, but gradually she learnt it. Now after five years you can say she has become somewhat fluent in playing this instrument.

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Fenton carnival glasses are iridescent glass patterns which were very popular in the begininning of the 1990s, and niche interest is continuing nowadays. More companies made similar clear glass dinnerware at other times, but Fenton carnival glass was far more popular usually. A major competitior wa Northwood glass as far as the iridescent glass fabrication is concerned - they started in 1908.

The Fenton carnival glass was introduced in a trade magazine in October 1907 with production beginning shortly thereafter. Over 2,000 different patterns have been made. About 1,000 patterns are best known, with the other 1,000 patterns being more rare. Kitten and rabbit patterns were popular with children.

The iridescent glass appeared to have a metallic luster and sheen, making it uinque and visually appealing. Many different pieces were produced including bowls, mugs, vases, plates and even entire table settings. A variety of colors were used, but the best sellers were marigold, cobalt, and amethyst.

By pressing liquid glass into a hot metal mold the Fenton carnival glass is produced. The molten glass when cooled takes the shape of the mold. A unique mixture containing metallic salts in liquid is sprayed on the hot molten glass and this causes the iridescent sheen. The cooling is carried out slowly taking 24 hours for the glass to reach room temperature. This prevents cracking of the glass due to accelerated cooling.

Originally, dime stores across America sold the pieces. After sometime the sales decreased and popularity waned and it was sold in bulk to carnivals. These were given as prizes on the midway. The name “carnival” glass was given because of this. The rainbow colors was apt for a carnival setting.

Fenton carnival glass, such as other clear glass dinnerware is being collected by many persons around the country. It is pretty often that individual parts are seen at the yard sales,to buy antique ones and for sales at on-line auctioneers as eBay. Because of the popularity there are auctions for only carnival glass. Search on-line for the auctioneers close to you.

Glassware is always fragile, so always treat it carefully. Even a very small bump can affect the play of light on the glass, ruining the shine, as can extended exposure to direct sunlight. Fine glassware should never be place in the dishwasher, but should only be washed by hand and dried with very soft cloth so as not to cause abrasions.

The most popular of the iridescent glass patterns is Fenton carnival glass that reached the height of popularity in the 1900’s. Other types of clear glass dinnerware remain a collectible niche to this day. Collectors also remain interested in the product of a competitor, northwood glass. The iridescent glass appeared to have a metallic luster and sheen and was very unique in appearance. The pieces were originally sold in dime stores across America, but after sales decreased and popularity waned, it was sold in bulk to carnivals. Remember that the glassware is fragile, and must be treated carefully.

Giving Large Oil Paintings as Gifts

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Oil paintings are now hailed as one of the best and the most expressive gifts that one can give to friends, relatives, and loved ones. In the midst of a wide array of oil paintings, it is important that one must have a set mind when shopping for an oil painting gift.

Color, theme, and size definitely matter in choosing the right oil painting gift. The color must not be in contrast with the color of the place or nearby decorations in the place of the receiver. Size constraint is another important consideration and it is common sense that you are not supposed to give large oil paintings to someone who lives in a small apartment. Theme or content must depict or clearly reveal the personality of the receiver.

Remember that oil paintings are expected to exact inspiration and a calming sense to the receiver. When given as a gift, make sure that you give one that will be displayed in the place of the receiver and not just kept in his closet for future disposal.

New learning of the Remo Djembe

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

I must confess that I had never heard anything called remo djembe. But once I heard it’s deep booming sounds, I fell in love with this instrument, instantly. The sound is so unique and so enjoyable that even a mediocre musician seems veteran playing this drum. I asked many of my musically inclined friends about Remo djembe and to my utter surprise they were also not aware of this. Many of them had been to South Africa yet they were blissfully ignorant. They were also hugely impressed when they heard the sound. This was truly an eye opener for all of us as we have come to realised that how little we know about the music and tradition of different parts of the world.

This time its impersonal

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

This time, its impersonal. This violence contains a movie, but only intermittently. Rambo blu-ray Hollow, hopeless, horridly written and wholly unpleasant. One would be hard-pressed to imagine a conventional narrative being any thinner than the one in Rambo. Has the gritty realism of the first film and a sadder mood for our hero but still continues Rambo as a soldier for hire involved in a standard plot. at this rate, what can we look forward to? Cobra: Back in the Hood? Son of Judge Dredd? Makes First Blood look like Bambi.

Neophytes may be left in the dust for lack

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Neophytes may be left in the dust for lack of narrative connections and clarifications, while Pullman admirers of all stripes may feel short-changed on mood and atmosphere. Wanting to appeal to a broad audience especially young teens is more than fine. Its admirable. But soulful, philosophical 13-year-olds do exist. They do! And they can even handle a religious discussion with lots of words involved. Golden Compass blu-ray Trailer Fans of the book may be thrilled to see it come to life but this tentative film demands a tougher minded, more confident sequel. Almost nothing remains at the end – not a glimmer of mystical inquisition, not a teasing loose-end of space-time speculation – to lure a Pullmanite towards a sequel. Golden Compass is one wordy endeavor, but it gallops to satisfaction, rising above significant adaptation odds to form a semi-coherent, lively fantasia of monsters and warriors. Unlike most fantasy aimed at younger audiences, theres a disturbing undercurrent at work here that imbues the film with a weightiness thats unusual in such works.

Lumets best film since 1982s The Verdict

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Lumets best film since 1982s The Verdict. A marvellous film, filled with tension, drama and emotional angst Buy Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead blu-ray The real kudos should go to screenwriter Kelly Masterson, who provocatively mixed a crime drama premise into a film exploring the legacy of damage family members impose upon one another. Veteran director Sidney Lumet Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon shows hes no slouch at 83 when it comes to crafting first-class thrillers with a pitch black core. The problem is not that the director is working but that his latest film is working too hard. Way too hard — this thing is melodrama running a marathon. The skill of the movie comes in using its structure to peel away the outer layers of these people and to slowly reveal the depths of their psychological damage.

Even if we see the happy ending from miles

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Even if we see the happy ending from miles away, its still a happy ending. There is a reason why formulae work: here, working well. The movie only blames Jane for forgetting herself in the needs of others, instead of the traditional Hollywood punishment for being single. 27 Dresses blu-ray Certainly Heigl fares better in less formulaic fare, such as Judd Apatows irreverent Knocked Up, but she does raise the level of this chick flick from bland to mildly entertaining. If 27 Dresses were part of a wedding reception, it wouldnt be the bouquet toss, but it wouldnt be the Chicken Dance, either. Its more like the cake: mass-produced, maybe a little too sweet but enjoyable all the same. Bridesmaid dresses are notorious for being unflattering, single occasion garments. Although formulaic, 27 Dresses wears well on its star. Herewith the latest example of whalebone-corseted conformity masquerading as a postfeminist statement on modern independent womanhood

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Keeps us entertained with the sheer spectacle of the thing, rather than anything actually interesting. National Treasure 2 dvd is a nice confidence and easy energy, three Oscar winners happily chewing every piece of scenery in sight, and one great action sequence with four characters trying to maintain the balance of a swaying platform. nothing more than a series of ADD driven vignettes held together by the flimsiest of plots, helmed by the dude who made 3 Ninjas. Id stop well short of calling it a cinematic treasure, but its better than the first one, and thats worth at least a few gold doubloons in my book. This American history-themed action thriller doesnt get many points for realism, but it makes up ground in so many other areas that you probably wont care.

On the surface the film is a solid thriller

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

On the surface the film is a solid thriller, but theres more thought here than in the average serial killer flick. Untraceable dvd Trailer is one of those deplorably gratuitous movies that wants to have it both ways, but gets nothing right. Exploits the very trend it condemns. While it would be unfair to say there aren’t moments of reasonable suspense, playing off our natural aversion to people being tortured does not constitute good filmmaking. This serial killer mystery has a good cast and a reasonable story and it could have been solid, but the plot thickens via acts of such abject stupidity that the movie is eventually ruined. The problem with Hollywood films condemning the public appetite for torture is that they frequently pander to it, and this is a very lurid and unsavoury example.

Speaking of recycling this script by Glenn Gers reeks

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Speaking of recycling, this script by Glenn Gers reeks of it and not in a healthy, eco-minded way. The latest vibrato performance of Diane Keatons late career shame has her playing once-wealthy housewife Bridget Cardigan, whose twee name and dithering hysteria are equally insufferable. Mad Money dvd Save your money so you dont get mad that you spent it on this. Its just a lot more sane and tame than its mad title would have you believe. Mad Money isnt intense, action-oriented nor will it win any Oscars. Still, in times when the economy and politics weight heavy on our minds, its a great hour-and-a-half escape. A few badly conceived scenes and misused actors cannot completely negate the positive message of this situation comedy. Diane Keaton deserves better, but lives to laugh another day.
